How was fhree born?
October 2024: I (Pierre-Louis) come home after six months walking the legendary Pacific Crest Trail. I treat myself to the book "One Year on a Bike" by Martijn Doolaard, to keep travelling, through words and images this time. The author leaves Amsterdam hoping to reach Singapore by bike. Halfway through the Middle East, he meets a Belgian couple travelling by tandem. *Click*. That was it. The idea of a synchronized journey fascinated me, obsessed me, and never let go.
The intention
A triplette is eco-friendly and it takes a collective effort to make it work. That is what we would like to share.
We won't go further or faster on a triplette, but we will go together.
The story
We want to document and tell the adventure as it really is: raw, authentic images, little staged shots, shaky and blurry ones, poetry scribbled in the corners of notebook pages, photos that jump across the screens.
We are bringing a camera, a tripod, notebooks and pens. The epic will be in the journey, not in the editing.
The route
In 2022, the three of us travelled across the Atlantic. The route we had planned fell apart after just a few weeks. We learned our lesson: let the unexpected and the people we meet guide us. So the route won't be fixed; it will be made along the way. Only the broad lines will be planned.
